Leading Your Small Group

Connect and share the Gospel with your kids!

  • All small groups need to be opened and ready to check kids in 20 minutes before service begins. Make sure you are on time and have everything you need: Check-in sheets, curriculum, activity supplies and that your room is all set to go before opening time.

  • As you check kids in, make sure every child has the correct stickers and are in the correct grade. Kids need to be in the group that shows on their sticker.

  • Make sure all kids in your group have a wrist band on.

  • Do not let any children go to the restroom during check-in, we don’t want they out in the halls alone while there are non-serving adults in the hallways. Ask them to wait if they can, otherwise alert your leader.

Begin your small group time:

  • Use the provided coloring sheets as an activity during the check-in process.

  • Be sure to connect with the kids in your group during this time.

  • Remind the kids they should not  touch anything that belongs to the CCA teacher or inside the student  desks.

  • Make sure you open in prayer, and don’t be afraid to encourage the kids to do the praying too!

  • Watch the time and be ready to go to large group at 6:05.

Facilitating your small group:

Small Group Recap & Activity

  • After returning from Large Group, use this time to lead the activity and recap the lesson from the curriculum.

  • Do not play additional games—stay focused on the message.

  • Follow the curriculum exactly; do not deviate or ad-lib teachings. Our goal is for every child to hear the same message across all small groups.

  • Watch the time: After 7:05 PM, no restroom breaks should be allowed, as people will be leaving the service.
