Safety & Security

Key Things to Remember
Stop.
Don't Panic.
Wait for instructions.
Know your evacuation route shown on back of clipboard.

Lockdown
Keep doors locked and closed at all times.
Place the blackout shield over the door window immediately.
Gather children in a corner far away from the door.
Instruct children to pray silently and remain quiet.
Do NOT open the door for anyone, even if they claim to be staff, leadership, or emergency personnel.
Anyone authorized to enter the room will have keys.

Injuries
Report all injuries immediately to your Team Leader or Service Coordinator before speaking with parents.
Some injuries may require an incident report to be completed.

Missing Childresn
If a child is missing:
First and foremost, stay calm and pray.
Immediately contact your Team Leader or Service Coordinator and clearly explain the situation.
Always following directions from your team leader or service coordinator.
Do not publicize that a child is missing. Be mindful of your words and surroundings—never allow others to hear or assume that a child is missing.
Next things to do:
Triple-count and take attendance by calling each child’s name.
Verify that every child in your small group has the correct color wristband. Children may occasionally join a different small group when transitioning to or from Large Group.
Remain with your small group at all times.

Fire Alarms & Evacuations
Always wait for instructions before leaving your small group room.
Remain calm and reassure the children.
Review and follow your evacuation route using the map on the back of your check-in clipboard.
Whenever you leave the room, bring your clipboard. This is critical for accountability—so you know who is in your small group, can ensure all children are with you, and have parent contact information if needed.
